Today's writers use more than just pen and paper. They have moved on from typewriters. Today's writer uses desktop and laptop computers, but needs to mobile as well. The writer of 2019 uses gadgets to get their writing done faster, so they can make it more accessible to readers.
The best gadget for writers in my opinion is a high quality smartphone. You can do everything you need to do as a writer with a smartphone. If you need to do research, use the web browser. If you want to take notes, open up any note taking app. Say you want to make a list, download and use a list making app or checklist app. Need photos? Take some with your smartphone. Looking for more information on a topic you are writing about? Look them up on your mobile web browser.
Once you begin writing, open up Word on your smartphone and start writing. You can do all your writing right on the phone on the app. The app has all the features of the desktop version and you can save the file directly on the phone for easy emailing to editors or posting on websites. A high quality smartphone is a great gadget for any writer in today’s market.
